The Mystery of Dracula and Spiritual Symbolism
Free Audio Presentation
Tom Russell

The book Dracula was something new to the consciousness of the people of the day. What it did, primarily, was something they had been waiting for for along time, and at last it came along. In the book Dracula were explanations. That's the key thought to remember. The book explained things for which they had never had an explanation before.

Bram Stoker's novel Dracula provides an unusual look at evil in action. What is evil? Let's look at the definition from the "Key Word Clarity" chapter in Oasis of the Heart:

Evil: "There are two types -- active evil and passive evil."

Active evil is aggressive. It attempts to prevent the truth from reaching people, whether in a truthful teaching, a really good book or a meaningful movie. It has many refined methods, including ignoring the truly beneficial by highlighting inferior alternatives in its place. It tries to chip away at decency and your sensing of the beautiful, including art and music. Truth makes people self-reliant and perceptive which can lessen active evil's profit and influence.

Passive evil is being unaware and thus contributing by default to the perpetuation of the world's dark cloud. The only way to counter evil is to put it entirely out of business within oneself through the Heart's awakening.

When you discover just how much real gold is in this classic, you may want to have your own copy of Bram Stoker's Classic so you can underline key passages.
