Quoted from: SuperWisdom - 7 Vital Secrets for a Rich and Purpose-Filled Life
Trying to make the intellect quiet through direct efforts is an exercise in futility. There's a far richer way: Take a journey to your center! Delve into your Heart. Reside there in quietness and receptivity. When the Heart is quiet, the mind naturally follows . . .
Robert Browning refers to "The Imprisoned Splendor" in his poem, "Paracelsus":
Truth is within ourselves, it takes no rise
From outward things; whate'er you may believe
There is an inmost center in us all
Where truth abides in fullness; and around,
Wall upon wall, the gross flesh hems it in,
This perfect, clear perception which is Truth.
A baffling and perverting carnal mesh
Binds it and makes all error; and to know
Rather consists in opening out a way
Whence the imprisoned splendor may escape
Than in effecting entry for a light
Supposed to be without.
As you increasingly refer to the "inmost center . . . where truth abides in fullness," you have a marvelous feeling of joy and release. Your overriding aim at this point is to open more doors and windows around the splendor, to let your Soul rise and be free.
